How Browser Game Progress and Scores Work on ZGame

Browser games feel simple when you press Play, but scores and progress can behave differently depending on the game, whether you are signed in, and which browser or device you use.

Short version: A game can run in your browser without an installation. Where a ZGame title supports account-backed score or progress saving, signing in helps associate supported game state with your account. Not every game stores the same type of progress.

Playing without an installation

ZGame browser games are designed to open directly from the game page. The game code runs in the browser, so there is no separate desktop installer required for normal play. Closing the tab ends the current session, although some titles may preserve supported state locally or through ZGame's signed-in game system.

This is useful for quick sessions, but it also means browser settings matter. Private browsing, aggressive storage cleaning, or clearing site data can remove information that only existed on that device.

Score saving and best scores

Some ZGame games submit completed scores to the site's score system. A saved score is different from a temporary number shown while a run is in progress. The score needs to reach the supported save flow before it can be associated with a leaderboard or account record.

Where best-score tracking is available, the site can keep the strongest completed result rather than treating every attempt as a new personal best. A failed or interrupted run may still end normally in the game, but it should not be assumed that every on-screen value has already been written to the server.

What “progress” can mean

Progress is broader than a leaderboard score. A puzzle game may need to remember a level, unlocked stage, lives, hints or remaining pieces. An arcade game may only need a best score. Because game mechanics differ, ZGame does not present one universal promise that every title saves every action.

If a game page offers a save or resume feature, use that control as intended. Do not close the page during a save action, and allow the request to finish before switching devices.

Signed-in play versus anonymous play

Signing in gives ZGame a stable account identity for supported account-backed features. Anonymous play can still be useful for a quick session, but it is less suitable when you expect a score or progress state to follow you to another device.

Never share login credentials just to preserve a game score. ZGame uses Google Sign-In for account access; the site should not ask you to send your Google password or one-time verification code through a game form.

Switching browsers or devices

When you move from one browser to another, purely local browser data does not automatically move with you. Account-backed data can be available after signing in when that particular game supports it. If a game appears to start fresh, first confirm you are using the same account and that the title actually supports stored progress rather than score-only tracking.

If a score does not appear

Finish the run normally, keep the tab open for a moment, and check that your connection is active. If you use content blockers or strict privacy tools, they can sometimes interfere with requests that a game uses to save state. Refreshing repeatedly during the end-of-run sequence can also interrupt a request.

If the issue persists, note the game name, browser and device type before contacting ZGame. Do not send passwords, OTPs or unrelated personal data in a support message.
