How to play Chess
Chess is a browser implementation of the classic board game with a computer opponent playing Black. It supports castling, en passant and promotion. ZGame saves the complete move history so the board position can be reconstructed when you resume.
You play White. Drag a piece to a legal destination or choose one of the legal move links beside the board. After your move, the computer responds as Black. Checkmate or a draw ends the run.
Controls
- Desktop: Drag a piece or click a legal move
- Touch: Drag pieces directly on the board
- Undo is available in the move panel; ZGame adds Pause/Resume and Restart
Tips
- Develop pieces before launching an early attack.
- Protect your king and watch the opponent’s forcing moves.
- Check captures, checks and threats before every move.
