How to play Word Grid Challenge
Word Grid Challenge is a free daily word guessing game for mobile and desktop. Choose a word length from four to seven letters, enter a valid-looking guess and use the colour clues to narrow down the hidden answer. Green letters are correct and in the right position, gold letters appear elsewhere in the word, and dark letters are not part of the answer. Daily mode gives every player the same puzzle for the selected length, while Unlimited mode creates a fresh challenge whenever you want to keep playing.
Select Daily or Unlimited mode, choose 4, 5, 6 or 7 letters, then enter a full word and press Enter. Four and five-letter games allow six attempts, six-letter games allow seven attempts, and seven-letter games allow eight attempts. Use the on-screen keyboard on mobile or your physical keyboard on desktop. Score depends on word length, attempts remaining, completion speed and whether a hint was used.
Controls
- Desktop: Type A–Z, press Enter to submit and Backspace to erase
- Mobile: Use the complete on-screen keyboard below the board
- Choose Daily or Unlimited and select a word length before starting
- Hint reveals one position; Share copies a spoiler-free colour grid
Tips
- Begin with a word containing several different vowels and common consonants.
- Use gold letters in new positions instead of repeating the same arrangement.
- A dark letter can still appear twice in one guess when the answer contains fewer copies.
- Longer words award more points, but solving with fewer attempts and less time gives the best score.
